The Official Music Video: Godsmack Come Together
We love the storytelling behind the music video we produced for rock band, Godsmack Come Together.
Our Creative Director, Ian Barrett, had toured with Godsmack for years. He was their videographer and documented their rise to Rock Stardom. He directed several of their Live DVDs and produced many videos for them over the years.
When Godsmack began recording their album “Live & Inspired” Ian travelled to the studio every day to capture the process.
He pitched the band’s management, The Collective, on giving their fans an intimate look at the band at the nexus of their creativity: In the recording studio. They loved the idea. We got to work.
The footage used in the Official Come Together Music Video is the band tracking the song.
While we hate to use the word “viral” this is a perfect example of a successful viral “Social Video.” One that was worth millions of dollars to Universal Records.
Godsmack’s management decided to lead with a different single for “Live & Inspired”. Yet, this video became an underground hit with core fans.
In March 2017, Rock Blogger wrote a piece about “The Best Godsmack Video You’ve Never Seen” and the video went viral. Because of the video, the song “Come Together” became the #1 most added rock single in radio stations across the country. It shot up into the Billboard Top 20 and become the Number 1 download in iTunes for Rock Single. “Come Together” is the highest charting Billboard debut in the 20-year history of the band.
The music video currently has 10.1 million views on YouTube.
