Public Sector Video Production

Helping communities understand the projects, policies, and investments that shape everyday life.
Public communication works best when people understand not just what is happening—but why it matters to them.
At MediaBoss, we help municipalities, agencies, and public communications teams turn complex information into stories people can connect with.

THE SITUATION

Public sector communication is rarely simple.
Infrastructure projects, environmental initiatives, public policy campaigns, and civic events often involve:

  • technical language
  • long timelines
  • complicated funding conversations
  • audiences with varying levels of trust and understanding

Without clear communication, important projects can feel abstract, confusing, or disconnected from the people they’re designed to help.

THE CHALLENGE

Most public-facing communication focuses heavily on the How: process, compliance, or technical detail. But communities respond to the Why:

  • Relevance
  • Clarity
  • Human Impact

The challenge is helping residents understands how these projects affect:

  • Their neighborhoods
  • Their homes
  • Their health
  • Their daily lives

That requires more than documentations. It requires storytelling (you can learn more about our approach here).

Over multiple years, MediaBoss partnered with the City of Framingham to document and communicate complex environmental and infrastructure initiatives designed to improve quality of life for residents.

Projects included:

  • stormwater filtration efforts at Lake Waushakum
  • flood mitigation and stream restoration along Walnut Street
  • community-focused signage and educational storytelling

Rather than focusing solely on technical process, the work centered on helping residents understand how these projects affect:

  • cleaner water
  • safer homes
  • connected neighborhoods
  • restored natural spaces

Think Blue Massachusetts

Silver Telly Award-Winning Public Awareness Campaign

As part of a year-long communications effort, MediaBoss produced an award-winning stop-motion animation campaign for Think Blue Massachusetts focused on protecting local water systems.

The campaign translated environmental best practices into approachable, actionable messaging around:

  • storm drains
  • runoff pollution
  • chemical disposal
  • pet waste

The work earned a Silver Telly Award for its ability to make environmental stewardship feel understandable, accessible, and relevant to everyday life.

Effective public communication builds understanding.

THE RESULTS

Effective communication helps communities:
– connect with projects that affect them directly
– see the human impact behind infrastructure investments
– engage more meaningfully with civic initiatives
Our work helps public agencies and communications teams move beyond technical explanations and create stories that people actually remember.
Because when communities understand the “why,” they’re far more likely to support the work behind it.
