For Boston Children’s Hospital, the audience was primarily parents and guardians of pediatric kidney transplant patients.
For Northwestern University, the focus shifted to adult liver transplant patients across multiple clinical sites.

MediaBoss developed a storytelling approach that balanced clarity, empathy, and trust.
BOSTON CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL
– Crafted language in close collaboration with the hospital team to ensure clarity without causing fear
– Cast spokespersons reflective of the patient population, including Latino representation
– Filmed live-action segments to establish trust and relatability
– Developed full-color, icon-based animation to simplify complex medical concepts
The animation style intentionally avoided facial detail—focusing attention on the message while maintaining inclusivity through varied skin tones.


NORTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY
Following the success of the Boston Children’s Hospital project, MediaBoss was recommended to support a similar initiative. We were excited to take on the project and design a custom solution with the end goal of producing four customized versions to use across different clinical sites.
